We are now a month and a half into the diet, and at the end of week 6, my wife lost another 2 lbs. Still slow, but still losing, and it all adds up! When my wife began the diet only 6 weeks ago, she weighed in at 16 1/2 stone, however, she is now just over 15 stone – 213 lbs to be precise.

Six weeks gone.. and 18 lbs down! Well done my wife.

Weight Loss Diary – Week 5

Bit late providing this update! I have officially become slack with the diet.. but my wife is staying strong, and through week 5, she has lost another 2 lbs.

In all, 5 weeks have passed by, and she has lost 16 lbs.

Week Review

In terms of the diet, I think my wife has kept everything flowing well. Food intake has remained low-ish (remember, she is not following a ‘strict diet’ or calorie counting) and she has taken the doTERRA TrimShake each day. I recall on a couple of days, she actually drank it twice a day. Continue reading

doTERRA TrimShake – Review

With my wife having completed the fourth week of her diet, and having lost a stone in weight through the process, I think it’s about time that I review the meal replacement shake that she has been using.  Throughout the 4 weeks, due to my inconsistency in preparing the essential oils, the only ‘diet product’ that she has regularly been taking has been the TrimShake from doTERRA.

TrimShake Basics

At the time of writing, the TrimShake comes in powder form only, and in two flavours – Chocolate or Vanilla. I’m not aware of any existing plans for doTERRA to expand the range, although I wouldn’t at all be surprised if they did.

The powder is contained in a medium-sized tub with a net weight of 660 Grams. Each tub contains approx 20 servings, with each serving intended to be 33g (each tub contains the measured scoop).

The TrimShake can only be ordered through a doTERRA consultant (of which I am one), and usually retail at the recommended price of £43.20 – although I personally sell at £40. Continue reading

Yesterday morning when my wife went to officially weigh in, she did so at the end of the first month of her diet. A much lower loss of weight occurred during this past week, but at least it was still a loss – 1 pound !! Despite the sudden slow down in weight loss though, overall, with one month of her diet now complete, my wife has officially lost 1 stone in weight.  Continue reading

An invitation to Young Living distributors..

This blog entry is directed to distributors of Young Living – a major essential oils company, and competitor of doTERRA. It is an invitation, not a criticism. There are indeed many blogs which attack one or the other, however this is not written in that manner.

From the outset, I will say that from my understanding of Young Living, there is an awful lot that I respect about the company. I am a distributor for doTERRA, and doTERRA was founded in the style of Young Living, with an awful lot of similarities, and simply put, without Young Living there would be no doTERRA.

However, as the two companies are now competing for the same market, the purpose of this blog entry is to invite distributors of Young Living to make the switch, and join up with doTERRA instead.  Continue reading

Weight Loss Diary – Week 3

These weeks are beginning to go by quickly, although I’m not sure my wife feels the same way! If I had to give up all the sweet things I love, I know I wouldn’t be happy. It’d be a real struggle for me. However, my wife continues to do well.. and this week, she lost a further 3 lbs. That’s 3 weeks.. and 13 lbs gone. So close to a stone!! Continue reading

Weight Loss Diary – Week 2

Week 2 of the diet has ended, and when my wife weighed in yesterday morning, she was pleased with herself again. At the end of week 1, my wife weighed 226 lbs, having lost 5 lbs during the week, and week 2 has reaped the same reward: another 5 lbs down in weight!

So two weeks of the diet have passed, and my wife has lost 10 lbs. I think the signs are very good here, and my wife is very pleased that her efforts are being rewarded. I’m not expecting each week to continue at this fantastic ‘5 lbs deduction rate’.. in fact, I fully expect some weeks to go completely wrong and find that the loss was none at all, or that the weight has increased. Should that happen, I’m sure I will (rightfully) get the blame. Continue reading

Wednesday 13th was the final day of the first week since my wife began her effort to lose weight, and yesterday morning she weighed in. Hoorah! Last Thursday morning she was 16.5 stone (231 lbs) however after week 1, she is now 226 lbs – so down by 5 lbs!

Success?

Hopefully.  With only one week, it’s hard to say whether her loss of 5 lbs was down to beginner’s luck.. or if her body actually responded to her efforts and has reduced in weight because of it.  At least the signs are good, and we look forward to seeing the results at the end of week two. Hopefully they will be positive! Continue reading

Weight Loss Diary – The Plan

This post is just a short review of how we plan for my wife to lose weight – which involves supplementing her diet with doTERRA products. For more information about doTERRA’s weight loss products and success stories, please view: http://www.essentialoils.im/slim-and-sassy

My wife will not be following a ‘strict diet’ as such, but she will be more careful in deciding what to eat, and she will try to generally cut down. We are not counting calories though!

Through the early period of the diet, she will not be engaging in exercise (our latest  son was born just 7 weeks ago, and we want to be extra careful due to the caesarean section). However, as time progresses, exercise will become a part of her efforts. doTERRA advise that their products should supplement a healthy lifestyle.. do not just rely on taking the supplements alone.

Over the next few weeks, I will review the products and explain how they work… however, as an overview, we plan on using the following: Continue reading

Weight Loss Diary – A little background..

This is a new concept for me.. writing about weight and weight loss! Not to boast or to annoy any of you who may be striving to lose weight, but for the record, I weigh 10 Stone – just about. That’s a pretty poor showing for a man, and in the past I’ve actually tried to put weight on (with whey protein shakes and more) but it never really worked out. My problem is trying to put weight on! – not trying to lose weight.

My wife on the other hand is on the other side of the scale. When I married her, she was 9 stone. However, some 6 years and 3 children later, her weight has jumped up to close to 17 stone – and she is now determined to lose it again! Continue reading
