dōTERRA Compliance – My blog has been targeted :(

When I began this blog a number of years ago, I said that at all times I would be open and honest in my postings with respect to dōTERRA.

Since I last posted, I have had a lot going on in my personal life which has preoccupied my attentions. As it is, I have had little time to focus on sharing dōTERRA at all and consequently I haven’t posted anything here, nor have I given the blog any attention at all.

I was therefore surprised to recently receive contact from dōTERRA’s legal team to claim that my blog is not compliant. Apparently.. I make claims that dōTERRA is like a medicine! Ridiculous. Continue reading

Lavender Essential Oil

The Lavender plant is hugely popular, and grows throughout many countries across the continents. There are 39 species of the flowering plant, and the most common of these is named Lavandula Angustifolia. However, all species are in fact referred to as Lavender.

The chemical properties of this plant offer many well known benefits, and Lavender is extensively used in cosmetics and skin care.  Continue reading

The Immune System and Essential Oils

Tags

, ,

Essential Oils are found in plant material (flowers, leaves, bark etc) and help to form the plant’s own immunity and defence against microbes, bacteria, fungus, insects, and anything else that will attack the plant. They are highly potent, and give the plant fragrance.

If you have ever enjoyed the gift of a rose, a walk by a field of lavender, or the smell of fresh cut mint, you have experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. Continue reading

Dr Pappas & dōTERRA

I have briefly touched on this topic in this blog when I discussed the level of trust that we can have in dōTERRA, and the independent testing that is carried out for each batch of pure essential oils. I feel the topic is important enough to warrant a further blog posting.

Who is Dr Pappas?

Dr Robert Pappas is a leading expert in essential oils, who is widely recognised and highly respected for his knowledge, integrity and accountability.

He obtained a Ph.D in Physical Chemistry from the University of Tennessee, and became the Senior Chemist at The Lebermuth Company, where he analysed essential oils, and helped the company develop 2000 fragrances.

In 1997, he then taught a class at Indiana University South Bend on the subject “Chemistry of Essential Oils”. This was the first time anyone had taught a class specifically about essential oils in the country.

In 1998 he started his own consultancy business, and he created the “Essential Oil University”. Dr Pappas continues to lecture the subject to students today. Continue reading

So.. who missed me?

Today, kind of out of the blue, I thought I would check on this blog. It’s been a while since I last did so!

Through one thing or another, I basically ran out of time to be regularly posting as other priorities took over my life. Of course, I hadn’t forgotten about things here, but I put it to one side, and very quickly it became one of those items on the mythical ‘to do list’ that I never got around to.

When I logged on, I was surprised.

Weight Loss Diary – Weeks 9, 10 & 11 !!

Wow. I’m getting way behind on my ‘weekly’ reporting. I’m having to combine 3 weeks worth here, and I think going forward, I’ll continue to report in a similar manner. Perhaps monthly, or every few weeks, if I have something in particular to share.

At the end of week 11, my wife is now down to 14 stone 11 pounds! Hoorah! In total, she has now lost 24 lbs! That’s pretty close to 2 stone!

The 6 Tests of dōTERRA Essential Oils

Tags

, ,

A key factor that distinguishes dōTERRA essential oils from other brands on the market is the extent of testing that they conduct on each batch of their oils. This testing is carried out to ensure that the essential oils are 100% pure, and free from all artificial ingredients – chemicals, pesticides, synthetics, fillers etc.

In recognition of this high quality control, dōTERRA created and trademarked the phrase “Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade” (CPTG) which they use to label and distinguish their essential oils. CPTG is a new standard for essential oil purity, and dōTERRA ensure that the standard is met through six essential tests.

Weight Loss Diary – Weeks 7 & 8

Yeah okay, I didn’t get around to writing up a blog post last week to review week 7. I’m even a little late with week 8, but here we go.. at the end of week 8 my wife is down to *drumroll* 15 stone and 1 pound (211 lbs)! Very slightly above her target of 15 stone.. but doing well.

Eight weeks gone.. and in that time, she has lost 20 lbs.

Week 7 & 8 Review

If you have read my week 6 review, you will see that my wife has dropped 2 lbs over the last 2 weeks. As it happens, she met the average there, and she lost 1 lb in each week.

Can We Trust doTERRA?

Tags

, ,

As an Independent Product Consultant (IPC) for doTERRA, I’ve naturally had an awful lot of questions come to mind about the company whose products I retail. I’m a sceptical person, and I’m not afraid to question those in authority. Through this blog entry, I want to explore the question of trust.

Who to Trust?

With the Internet available in most homes throughout the More Economically Developed Countries (MEDC) – I’m told that it the ‘proper’ way to call them – the Internet has become the ultimate way to share news, a message, a product and market. It is quick and it is powerful. High on the agenda of any internet marketer will be social media, as in recent years, it has demonstrated its vast ability to reach out and sell.

The internet is great, a marvellous modern tool; but one downside that I have noticed is how it has deteriorated the element of trust. With so much information being made available to us, and so easily, it is hard to know who is telling the truth, and who we can trust.  We are well aware of ‘scams’ and are encouraged to be wary that if something sounds “too good to be true” – then RUN!!
